This article provides a great overview of how to create your own Statement of Purpose.

It also shows Bruce Lee’s actual Statement of Purpose that he created after reading “Think and Grow Rich” by Napoleon Hill.  It’s almost eerie how accurate that statement was in predicting his future.  In fact, when Bruce Lee retired from acting, his net worth was $10 million … which is the EXACT number he put in his aspirational Statement of Purpose BEFORE he was a famous actor.

Then again, as the great quote goes: “The best way to predict the future is to create it.”

That’s the whole point of a Statement of Purpose!

  1. This is a powerful illustration! Thanks for connecting the dots between Bruce Lee (my personal hero) and Napoleon Hill another influence in my like who was inspired by the Scottish businessman Andrew Carnegie, yet another influence for me. This not only connects the dots for me but serves as a call to action. I see that I have forgotten how important it is to be specific and narrow down my one chief aim. I’ll write again soon and give you my chief aim.
